SXSW, the Super Bowl of creative festivals, left Austin and headed to Sydney in 2024. This was the first time SXSW had ever been held outside the U.S.
CommBank jumped at the chance to show it’s at the cutting edge of tech innovation by partnering with SXSW as Super Sponsors.
My job? To make sure 10,000+ SXSW attendees left the festival thinking CommBank isn’t just the most tech-savvy of the Big 4 banks but also one of Australia’s leaders in tech and innovation.
CommBank is Australia’s biggest corporate user of AI and uses it to make the financial system safer, but hardly anyone knew about it.
To change that, we created AI-MAZING, an interactive maze designed to help Australians navigate a brighter future through innovation.
This 8-day activation became the heart of the festival—a vibrant space where attendees could explore CommBank’s tech innovations, network, enjoy the best view of the mainstage music performances, and party the nights away.
And that wasn’t all. CommBank also headlined a keynote, hosted multiple talks (including a session on the Matildas), and educated the nation through social media on how AI is transforming banking and business.
